19.6% of survey respondents have identified security as one of the key trends in recent years, with more than 62.6% stating that their approach to infrastructure security and compliance has changed in the past year. Security (15.3%) and compliance (12.7%) are seen as critical factors influencing the future, with security continuing to be a significant opportunity for growth.

Security impacts both hosting providers and their customers in various ways, including decision-making and infrastructure. In 2023, hosting providers experienced an increase in site security issues among their clients. Common problems included WordPress-related issues (19.4%), outdated WP plugins (17.5%), hacking (10%), DDoS attacks (6.9%), malware (5.6%), and other similar threats.

• Shift to Passkeys and Decline of CAPTCHA: The industry is shifting towards using passkeys for user authentication, with companies like Google leading the charge.
